This was my best practice run for an advanced desktop publishing competition for Business Professionals of America. For this competition, you are given a prompt, specific things that need to be made, a few photos/icons, and a 1 1/2 hour time limit. 

The prompt for this practice run was a Dog-Friendly ice cream shop called 'Scoop Dogs'. I made a custom logo, a menu, a social media post, a gift certificate, and a card highlighting the mailing list for the business. 

I took a multiple choice test to be able to qualify to compete at state for advanced desktop publishing. At state competition, I placed 1st in the state! I'm excited to compete at nationals for this competition. 

All the practice I did leading up to state, as well as designing in front of judges, has taught me so much about how to create under pressure. Time management is very important for designers, not only for personal reasons, but also for clients!
